The making of this adorable DIY door hanger is more than just EASY. It also holds several really good tips for creating on any surface.

This $7.00 precut circle from Walmart was already painted black. I created a border using painter's tape and white chalk and a kitchen bowl! Choose a bowl to trace with chalk that will leave you an inch or so as a border.
Using the idea of a clock face....tape at 12/3/6/9. This creates 4 equal spaces. You decide if you want to add 2,3, or even four more pieces of tape to each section. Just be sure what you do to one section, that you do the same to ALL four sections. This keeps your checks in an "even" number which will ensure you will have a black and white check next to each other when you make around the circle!!!
Genius, right?! Trust me, I learned the hard way!
Use a clear topcoat to paint the edges of each piece of tape. This is referred to as burnishing and ensures you will have nice crisp lines in the end!
Mine is Fluff! (my favorite white by Dixie Belle Paint)
I chose Plum Crazy Be sure to leave just enough in the very center to add your "glow" color.
I used the Gulf.
If your Plum Crazy has dried, no worries! Reactivate it by just brushing a small amount of Plum Crazy again and then quickly begin the blending process.
When you use this brush gently moving over the line where the two colors meet, it creates this gorgeous, cloudy blend! It brings the two colors together in a velvety blur that is SO stunning!
It works to soften the line between any two colors, but when you use it with a "glowy" color like The Gulf, it will make you feel like a pro!
If you don't have this brush, I highly suggest that you invest in one!
I chose to combine the Flower Child and the Cotton & Eucalyptus transfers to create a boho style swag across the top of the circle.
I love using more than one transfer to add variety to my designs! You will want to brush on a light coat of Top Coat in Flat or Satin directly over your transfer to protect it.
This next part is totally up to you!
I chose to handwrite the word HELLO with chalk and fill it in with white paint using a detail brush.

Maybe you don't want to hand letter and would prefer to use a Cricut machine or some sort of vinyl lettering. Or maybe you'd prefer to fill the empty space in with more floral transfers and not have any words at all! It's up to YOU!
Once this was fully dry I gave it a nice coat of Glitterblast which is like fairy dust in a can! It adds the sweetest most subtle touch of sparkle!
