This simple DIY Lazy Susan was completed in less than 15 minutes and looks like a million bucks!

Did I mention it uses no paint?

A DIY project without using paint?

What has happened to me?

I'm not sure, but what I do know is I LOVE THIS RESULT!

If you like to WATCH the entire process...

Step 1: Gather your materials

I purchased (ok....I sent Matt to purchase) this wooden disc at our local hardware store (thank you, Home Depot). I gathered my VERY FEW supplies needed (listed for you below) and got started!

Step 2: Decide on your design

Using a ruler and pencil, I drew out my design. I then taped off the first section of my design (the mountains) using painter's tape.

Step 3: Get to Stainin'!

I applied my Dixie Belle stain (that's right - no paint!) in American Honey to that section using a cut-up piece of cloth.

Make sure to wear gloves to prevent the stain from discoloring your hands. Rub off any excess stain and then remove the tape.

Step 4: Rinse and Repeat

I was able to immediately tape over that stained area so I could stain the next section of the design. I was originally worried that my tape would pull back the stain but was happy to discover it does not!

Again....stain....wipe off excess....remove tape....and move to the next section.

I divided the sky into night and day using Colonial Black and Picklin' White. I then framed out the outer edge of the disc using the Colonial Black.

Step 5: Seal

To seal and protect this Lazy Susan, I chose Dixie Belle's Hemp Oil, since we want this to be food-safe (just in case someone would like to use this to serve food).

Hemp Oil absorbs into the wood, dries with a matte finish, and is water-resistant when fully cured (30 days).

Step 6: Make it lazy

Now to make this Lazy Susan spin!

I ordered the spinning component from Amazon and had Matt attach it to the disc!

And that is it!!!

Such a simple project with a big WOW attached to it!

These make great gifts!!

I am gifting this one to my daughter to use on her kitchen island! I can't wait to hear what you think!!!

I hope this gives you ideas on creating your own Lazy Susan!
