Pamela has been a member of The Best You for 110+ days. Before joining The Best You, she would get sick after she ate anything. Quickly in her TBY journey, she was able to enjoy her meals again! She has also had significant pain relief - so much so that she was able to cancel a scheduled surgery. Continue reading for more of Pamela's story...

What is your WHY for joining The Best You and eating AIP? Do you have a specific diagnosis? For over a year, I was getting sick anytime I ate anything. I had gastric bypass 10 years ago and initially blamed it on that. I went to the doctor and they began running all kinds of tests. They couldn't find what was causing it and I was continually losing weight and just didn't want to eat. I knew where it would lead.
The doctor's answer was to throw drugs at the problem.
"Tracey explained that what I was eating could be making me sick, so I decided to give it a try."
When I saw Tracey's story, I reached out to her and asked her if she thought this program could help me. She explained that what I was eating could be making me sick, so I decided to give it a try.
My why was to just be able to eat a meal with my family without running to the bathroom.
I just wanted to feel better.
How did you learn about The Best You? I discovered Traceys Fancy by doing a YouTube search on painting harlequins. I began following her about the time she celebrated a very positive medical test result. I began to read about her success and learned of The Best You.
When did you join The Best You? What is your #number (days AIP / age)? Joined September 2019 #115/58
Share your successes!! I had been getting sick to my stomach every time I ate. As I began the program, I noticed I was actually eating food and not getting sick. By the third week, I was able to have a meal and enjoy it.
I had also struggled with a lot of pain in my hip. After many injections and physical therapy, I was scheduled for a surgical procedure this month. A few days ago, I realized the pain I'd had for two years had lessened to the point I don't feel surgery is necessary. I'm in so much less pain!
I didn't struggle with my weight, but I did lose 13 pounds in 7 weeks. I feel so much better and am so grateful for the positive outcome.

Have you re-introduced any foods yet? If yes, what and what were the results? I have re-introduced nuts without any issues.
What tricks/tips made this life easier? Plan for success!
I plan my meals and make sure I have plenty of AIP approved food and snacks on hand. I'm retired but I still meal prep ahead. Especially making sure to have green-juice, smoothies and cut up veggies to snack on.
List your top AIP go-to meals... Chicken stir fry, Beef stew with parsnip and sweet potatoes and Taco Salad.
List your favorite AIP snacks... Fresh fruit and veggies.
How do you stay AIP compliant outside your home (work, social gatherings, traveling, etc)? I take food with me when I can. I eat something before going somewhere I have no control over the food offered. I've traveled a lot since eating AIP and have stayed 100% compliant by planning ahead.

What other lifestyle implements have helped with your success (sleep, stress management, exercise)? I'm sleeping better and I'm painting more now that there's very little to no pain. Painting is my stress reliever.
What advice would you give to someone just starting The Best You? Commit 100%. Have no reservations going in. Give it the full 8 weeks and stay compliant.
