I've had this old silver tray for as long as I can remember....one of many, actually....big, beautifully worn, and completely tarnished from years of serving guests and gatherings. This year, instead of tucking it away again, I decided it deserved a moment in the Christmas spotlight.  So when I stumbled across the most gorgeous decoupage paper designed to be painted over, I knew that this tired old tray was about to get a second life as a Santa Serving Tray!

I just wrapped up what I believe was my eighth furniture painting retreat.... and somehow, these weekends keep getting better and better.  Every single time I think, "It can't possibly top the last one," and then....BOOM....the women prove me wrong all over again!

It's been years since I've painted a king size bed....probably four or more!  I used to paint them all the time, but over the years I have shifted toward smaller more manageable projects. Smaller pieces mean faster turn-around, less heavy lifting and easier staging!  This blue blended chalk painted bed was a bit of a homecoming for me and how great it felt to stretch out creatively over such a large surface again!
