I am honored to bring this version of my wood wall to you today! It's not very often that clients remember to send me photos when preparing nurseries for their new babies......I mean hello....it's kind of a busy time in their lives! However this sweet momma remembered and gave me full permission to share this twist on a pink plank wood wall feature!
Chelsea and her hubby are expecting a baby girl.....and wanted a feature piece behind her crib...yet they didn't want to commit to a full wall. So they asked for a wall portion. I've actually done several of these....but like I said...once I ship them off to another state....its up the the family to send pictures and they just don't!!
I design the wall....cut the boards into strips....paint each board.....sand them smooth.....number them for easy installation....and ship them! This can be an entire wall....or just a portion! The installation only requires a nail gun or even just a hammer and small nails. The wood is thin and very easy to work with.
I asked Chelsea to send me something to match paint colors to. She mentioned this wall hanging that she purchased at Hobby Lobby. I purchased one here locally and matched my Dixie Belle Paints to it. You can see the raw wood planks above....already cut into strips.....as well as the wall hanger that I purchased.
Below is just another bonus shot of another view of her room! I can't tell you how happy I am when people give me the opportunity to peak into this special little rooms that they create for their babies!!!
They will add her name, once they decide what it will be, in a wood cut out....right on top of the wall above the crib! It is just what it needs to finish this feature wall.
I used Flamingo for the bright coral boards....Soft Pink for the lightest pink......I mixed Flamingo and Soft Pink 50/50 for the medium pink boards.....Driftwood for the darker gray.....and Manatee Gray for the light gray. The gold glam boards are straight up gold leafing...my fave!
I hope this project gives you tons of ideas for rooms or spaces in your home that you could dress up with a wood plank feature wall!
