What is your WHY for joining The Best You and eating AIP? Do you have a specific diagnosis?
I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes five years ago. I changed my diet, lost twenty pounds and could not get the last ten pounds off. All my numbers are great without any medication. I plan to do this for life.
How did you learn about The Best You? My sister told me about Tracey, I joined her facebook page right before her diagnoses. She started a Friday morning Live and I followed her results. Then she announced she was starting The Best You. I was the first one to sign up, I knew there would be great information and I didn't want to miss anything. When did you join The Best You? What is your #number(days AIP / age)? October 2018.... #244 /66 yrs. young Share your successes!! I lost ten pounds and nine 1/2 inches and have kept it off! Still in shock! I learned I needed to eat healthier foods. What I was doing kept my numbers perfect except for my weight. I learned what to eat to control my weight and I feel in control for the first time in my life! Have you re-introduced any foods yet? If yes, what and what were the results? Yes, I learned I cannot eat nightshades without discomfort. I never knew they affected me.
I have added nuts, eggs, cheese with no issues.
What tricks / tips made this life easier?
With this group support and my "Human Fitbit Tracey" I have learned a way to feed my body for life! I make and freeze the Green Juice up to fifteen days ahead. Saves me time!

List your top AIP go-to meals.
I always have spinach, broccoli, cucumbers, olives, carrots, apples on hand to make salads.
I bake chicken, Salmon, and any other fish to put on top of my salad.
I make smoothies for breakfast.
I always have homemade soup in the freezer at all times.
List your favorite AIP snacks.
Apples, nuts, pears, date bars, smoothies, deli turkey and ham.
How do you stay AIP compliant outside your home (work, social gatherings, traveling, etc)? I always keep a package of nuts in my purse, if we cannot eat on time I am not starving.
I always bring food I can eat to someone's home if I think I need to. We are very verbal about this way of eating so everyone knows.
When traveling, I bring a travel blender to make smoothies. We eat at restraunts that we know we can order vegetables and protein.
My favorite would be salad bars. I can get exactly what I want.
What other lifestyle implements have helped with your success (sleep, stress management, exercise)? I try to get eight-nine hours of sleep each night. After nine years of doing water aerobics I took a break last December and now I am going back to swim.
What advice would you give to someone justing starting The Best You?
This is a safe place of caring ladies who are here to help. As you go through detox reach out and share for support! I tried to focus on what foods I could have not what I couldn't have. There are always good substitutes! I do not feel deprived.
