Before Summer Stripes!
This little beauty is another piece from Matt's dad's home. I believe this was used in the guest bedroom. I love the shape of it... but again... it was just too dark for my liking as well as very worn out with stains and markings.

After a good cleaning, with White Lightning, I prepared to prime it.

"Orange You Gladys" Orange Striped Table
I used Boss in Gray which is usually my favorite...especially when needing to block the stain on dark pieces such as this one.

However, I likely would have used Boss in White had I any in stock... because my base coat was going to be white. But Gray pulled through as always. I applied two coats and allowed to dry.

I then painted the entire piece in two coats of Fluff white.
The BEST Brush for Small Spaces
The center shelf allowed very little vertical room to brush paint.

A roller could have worked well except I really needed a brush to get up against and around the spindles really well.
SO......the scarlet brush to the rescue.
I'll be completely honest, I don't use this brush often. But every time I NEED the brush due to space issues..... I am so thankful that I have it! It really is a great little brush that offers a fantastic finish!
Vintage Oranges Decoupage Paper
I chose to add the Vintage Oranges decoupage paper to this little table. It really played into it's original vintage shape and it fit perfectly into my summer series focus!
PRO TIP: I use Satin Clear Coat as my decoupage medium....as it truly is the BEST product for decoupage on the market. I used ModPodge for years and this Satin Clear Coat is like top shelf royalty in comparison!!! Trust me.....give it a try and you won't go back to MP!

And Finally....the Orange Stripes!
I chose a color that I don't use very often - Florida Orange!
It is a gorgeous shade of orange... as you can see... but oranges can be funny.....and often require multiple coats so I find myself avoiding them.

These stripes did require two coats but just look how crisp and snazzy they look with the contrast of orange and white! In fact, it's making me want to change out all of my outdoor cushions to this color and pattern! I am in love!

The Finished Look
In keeping with the theme of "just two colors"....I chose to NOT embellish the spindle legs.

I could have gone whimsically nuts with those cute spindles....but the crisp white with orange is plenty cute.....and my goal this summer is to keep it quick and simple while still being playful!

I will admit...table #1 only took one hour to complete. This table took substantially more time....and for those of you that want to know exactly how long....I'd have to guess approximately four hours. But it was a well spent four hours that delivered this adorable hand painted happy piece!
Remember: Each of the tables will be available to purchase on my website at the end of the summer series! I plan to photograph them all together prior to making them available.
