The Design Plan: Whimsical Fall Pumpkin Decor
Today I am using the cutie patootie Hello Punkin' design transfer to embellish this thrifted box that I found at Goodwill.
I really love signs with words.....and especially directional signs....like arrows.
I'm not sure why I like arrow signs so much....but I do.

Whimiscal Fall Pumpkin "Topiary"
I don't have process photos of this project because I painted it live start to finish. You can watch that video here if you'd like.
Thrifted Planter Box Upcycle with Hello Punkin Design Transfer
I chose to use the arrow on two sides of the box....I love the wrap around effect......and then two of the matching pumpkins on the other sides.
You can see that I measured out the top and bottom of the box on the arrow sides to add a decorative checked trim.
A friend of mine suggested painting in the rest with larger checks....so I did.....and I really like it!
The two pumpkins that I chose are the golden/orange colored ones. The transfer set also comes with two teal colored pumpkins that I really preferred but they are slightly larger and didn't fit on the thrifted box without being cut off.
Whimsical Pumpkin Topiary Creation
I wasn't really sure how I was going to use the little box until I saw this stacked pumpkin trio at HomeGoods. I knew it was exactly what this little box needed.
Whenever I add topiaries or finials or pumpkins to planters or boxes....I alway utilize wreaths or candle rings as fillers. This is a three wick candle ring that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I set it on the box and added the pumpkins.
The plain vanilla color of the pumpkins was throwing me so I decided to paint the stack!
I pulled colors from the transfer and added a stripe pattern to that bottom pumpkin.
The top pumpkin got the checkered pattern because I love it....and also to balance out the heavy checkered pattern of the cute little thrifted box!
The center pumpkin I left in its original color and randomly applied the small acorns and leaves that are in the transfer package as well.
The Finished Look: Whimsical Fall Pumpkin Decor
Both the box and the pumpkins are top coated in Clear Coat Satin for lasting durability!
Isn't it cute????
I love it so much!
I'll be gifting this to my sister for her first Thanksgiving in her home since returning back to the country this past December. I think she's going to love it!
