Never Pass Up a Quality Thrifted Cigar Box!
I never pass up a handsome cigar box when thrifting!
They are the best size and make great repurposed home decor and even beautiful gift boxes.

I have had this pair for months...just waiting for the perfect project to come along.
I have WAY more Easter decor than I need but I love to add something new to the mix.
These boxes were the perfect size for this Easter stencil. AND.....the fact that I can stand the boxes upright for decor is such a bonus!

DIY Easter Gift Box or Home Decor Creation
Just wait until you see how cute they look on my coffee table!
Alright....this is fast so pay attention!
Prepping the Box for Easter Stencil Design
One single coat of Boss in gray was applied to fully cover the lettering of the box and block any possible wood tannins.

I used a heat gun to dry this coat and was ready to move on in about 3 minutes.
One single coat of color of choice to each lid. I used Tea Rose on one and Mint Julep on the other. Heat gun dried! Total of 2 minutes.
Stripe In Less Than Five Minutes!!
Three pieces of tape placed over base coat per box.

Another coat of color of choice to paint the stripes. I used my Cotton Candy custom pink mix.....very little paint on a dry brush.

Tape removed immediately and heat gun to dry.

Total of 5 minutes and stripes are complete!

Easy Easter Stencil Application
This Happy Easter Stencil was the perfect addition to this DIY Easter gift box.
Stencil held onto lid of box with one hand while stippling a very light coat of Fluff white using a round flat brush.

Heat gun to dry....and this took 5 minutes.
Clear Coat in Satin for final coat...heat gun to dry...for a total project time of 20 minutes!!!
The Finished Look
Just look how cute they are!

I chose to leave the body of the box in its raw wood. I really like the mix of tones and textures.

I think they look amazing on my coffee table....especially standing upright!

Sometimes keeping it simple....and a race with the clock.....is exhilarating!
