There's something really cool about taking a simple pair of canvas shoes and transforming them into one-of-a-kind wearable art. These colorful espadrille-style shoes from Mexico already had a charm all on their own, but adding hand-painted details made them feel completely custom, artistic and loaded with personality.

I've painted a lot of denim overalls over the years, but these painted denim overalls might be my favorite pair yet. These Shabby Roses Overalls are layered with hand painted roses, soft vintage textures, and all the whimsical imperfect charm that makes me happiest as an artist. And somehow.... they still feel completely wearable.

A client mailed me this pair of leather shoes and gave me creative freedom to transform them into something whimsical, tropical and one of a kind. immediately knew I wanted to create a playful coastal scene filled with flamingos, starfish, sunshine-filled colors, and vacation vibes.
